Komen Central and South Jersey Staff

“I began my tenure with the Central and South Jersey Affiliate in February 2012 and have had the pleasure of getting to know many of you through my roles working on the Race for the Cure, Golf for the Cure and other events, at volunteer and community events and through our mission outreach.

Throughout the past five years, I have been so proud to be a part of this organization and all we have accomplished. A fun fact about me is I like to knit dolls and stuffed animals. I also started my own little fundraiser called Knitting for a Cure. If someone I know asks me to make something, I do not accept money for them, but I do ask for a donation to Komen!”

“Komen’s mission to save lives resonates with me. After witnessing a family member lose their life to a chronic illness, I decided to dedicate my life to preventing others from experiencing such painful loss.

Every day that I walk into the office [at Komen], I am able to help achieve our mission by educating and empowering women and men to get screened for breast cancer and helping them access the medical services they need. A fun fact about me is my brother and I share the same birthday, but we were born four years apart.”

“I love working at Komen CSNJ because I am incredibly passionate about our mission. I enjoy finding creative ways to connect with families, survivors, donors, volunteers and communities on a variety of platforms, furthering our vision of a world without breast cancer.

I love being a storyteller for Komen CSNJ – writing, designing and creating content that hopefully makes an impact in our community. I have a five-month-old golden retriever puppy named Annie who is both mischievous and adorable!”

“While breast cancer runs on my father’s side of the family, I have been fortunate that no one in my immediate family is affected. But like so many others, I have friends who have been impacted. So working at Komen CSNJ makes me feel like I am helping the cause, even if just in a small way.”

“I am so happy to have recently joined Komen CSNJ.   We’ve all been affected by breast cancer in some way.  Unfortunately, breast cancer has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.  My mother, aunts, cousins, have all been diagnosed – sadly too many to count and so many who were not lucky enough to be called a Survivor.    Because of this strong family history, I’ve always been diligent in my own breast care and making sure my friends and family do the same.  By working at Komen I will be given the chance to help with their goal …within the next decade, reduce current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% – in hopes that my two daughters won’t have to hear the words “breast cancer” so often.

A fun fact about me is my favorite day of the year is April Fools’!  I work on my pranks all year round.  I keep a “Prank Box” hidden and ready to go!   My girls beg for a pardon every year.”
